our product life story.

The fibres used to make the bags are non GM, certified Organic by Skal and Fairtrade by IRFT, grown in North India. This ensures that the environment is not harmed when growing the cotton and that the farmers are paid fairly and ethically. The growers have several centres across India and guides tens of thousands of farmers towards sustainable and fair trade methods.

The bag itself is manufactured in a rural village in Tamil Nadu, South India. The cotton fibres are either woven by hand or on small electric powered looms. All employees are paid above the average wages and have a full, secure employment; working in light, spacious, airy units situated at the edge of the village. More than just a fair wage, workers also have access to sickness benefit and healthcare, provident fund and retirement gratuity.

Finally, design is rendered by silk screen printing in the traditional fashion with colour introduced by the water based ink.
